Who We Are

Luckystone Acres is a small, family-run farm, established in 2020 by Craig and Zoë Bailey. Our farm is nestled at the north edge of Gimli, Manitoba. We specialize in the raising of fine Icelandic Sheep using regenerative agricultural practices.  We provide local, pasture-raised lamb to the community and beyond, luxurious heritage wool, and healthy robust breeding stock to other farms also intent on preserving this ancient and revered breed.

How our farm got its name

Craig and Zoë grew up on opposite shores of Lake Winnipeg where roaming the beach and searching for luckystones was a favourite pastime. Luckystones are special sedimentary rocks found around Lake Winnipeg that feature a hole likely caused by the fossilization of gastropods millions of years ago. As the name implies, it is good luck to find a luckystone! So, when Craig and Zoë met as adults they began gifting luckystones to each other whenever they found them. When they married in 2019 the pair exchanged luckystones in place of traditional rings. The luckystone featured in our logo is the stone that Zoë gave to Craig. The name Luckystone Acres came to us naturally as the luckystone is something dear to our hearts and it has always brought wonderful adventures with it.
